Don’t get fined due to expired permits and certifications!
Remember to check expiration dates for Food Manager Certification which is valid for *5 years and Food Handler registration which is valid for 2.
The food establishment permit is renewed annually.
IMPORTANT: In order to renew food establishment permits, the City of Austin requires a list of certified Food Managers and Food Handlers to be registered with the City. Thornhill Training registers Food Handlers with the City alleviating a trip to the Health Dept.
For our private Food Handler classes, as a service to our clients we not only register their employees but we also provide an employee roster which includes all the required info for the Health Dept.
We also offer ONLINE certifications including TABC, Food Handler and Manager.
(*Note: Our ServSafe Food Manager Certification is valid for *5 years. When you register with the City/County you can register for 1 to 5 years. If you only register and pay for one year then the City Manager Certificate will have to be renewed in a year.)
